‘Quiet and still, not windy. Not excited or agitated’.

This is how the dictionary describes the word calm. I think that word best describes these images. None were planned as such, but I am always on the lookout for them. I just like to be prepared. These images have been captured on a variety of cameras from film to digital. None have been reworked or extensively realtered in fact if I could find and return to the same locations today I would expect to see the same scene. Weather permitting.

‘calm’ also implies ‘time’ although that is not in the dictionary. These images were captured with ‘time’

on my hands, towards the end of the day. The sun is going down, the shadows lengthen, and most people have somewhere else to be.
