Lucy always says a portrait has nothing to do with how somebody looks but is always simply about who they are. That’s the challenge and it is what makes a good portrait.  A portrait captures the distinct essence of someone. 

This is why Lucy relishes photographing some of our most well known faces as they are known to us all and each portrait is open to our judgement and interpretation.
